Sultan of Pahang’s son enters Citaglobal board

PETALING JAYA: Citaglobal Bhd has appointed 27-year-old Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah (Tengku Arif Bendahara) as an independent and non-executive director.

Tengku Arif Bendahara is the son of the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Al-Sultan Abdullah holds about 9.5% stake in Citaglobal and is the company’s second largest shareholder after TIZA Global Sdn Bhd, which owns 30.9% and is wholly controlled by Citaglobal executive chairman and president Tan Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Citaglobal said Tengku Arif Bendahara graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in international studies from the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom, after completing his A-Levels at Harrow School in London.

“In 2015, Tengku Arif Bendahara had undertaken a placement at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia focused mainly on economics, trade and regional integration aspects while gaining experience in social policy and national integration as well as foreign policy and security studies,” it added.

Shares of Citaglobal closed half a sen or 0.6% lower at 84 sen.
